Growth Trends of PCB Sales in North America
International Electronics Industry Association recently released the "Report on PCB Industry Research in North America in October 2017" at December 4th in Bannockburn, Illinois, USA. The report shows that there is a stable growth trend in total PCB sales and orders in October and the book-to-bill ratio is 1.12.
Compared with the same period last year, total PCB shipments in North America in October 2017 increased by 3.6%. However, shipments from the beginning of the year to the present are still 2.9% below of the same period last year. Compared with the previous month, October shipments decreased by 2.9%.
In October 2017, PCB orders in North America increased by 13.9% compared with the same period of previous year; orders from the beginning of the year was 4.9% higher than the same period of previous year. Compared with last month, orders increased by 0.5%.
Ms. Sharon Starr, IPC Market Research Director, said: "The North American PCB industry has come out of the doldrums this year, with the year-on-year growth rate for the second consecutive month of October, maintaining its growth tread and continuing to grow. PCB industry looks optimistic based on the growth trends in PCB sales and book-to-bill ratio in nine consecutive months. Although there was a slight decline in book-to-bill delivery ratio after reaching the peak of 12 years in August, PCB sales will continue to grow in the coming months."
