Promising Prospect of Printed Circuit Board Market
Printed circuit board is the key electronic interconnection of electronic products, connecting various electronic components through circuits and playing the role of conduction and transmission. As the basic industry of electronic information industry, the PCB industry has a huge scale, which is greatly influenced by the cyclical fluctuation of macro economy.
According to statistics, as the global economy recovered stably from 2010, the total output value of the PCB industry rose to 52.447 billion U.S. dollars, up by 27.22% over the same period of last year. From 2011 to 2016, the global economy was generally stable at low growth rate with small fluctuations. China has gradually become the main PCB production base, which is increasingly influenced by the changes of the macro-economic environment.
Under the overall trend of global PCB industry shifting to Asia, China, as a large electronics manufacturing country, thanks to its huge domestic market and relatively low production cost, has attracted a large amount of foreign and local PCB investment to promote explosive growth of PCB industry in just a few years.
At present, China has become the world's largest PCB producer and one of the regions in the world that can provide the largest PCB capacity and the most complete product type. Overall, though there are a large number of local PCB enterprises, compared to foreign-funded enterprises, there is still a gap on the size and technical level.
From 2008 to 2016, the output value of PCB industry in China increased from US $15.037 billion to US $27.123 billion with a compound annual growth rate of 7.65%, far exceeding the global growth rate of 1.47%. In 2016, the overall size of PCB industry in China reached 27.123 billion U.S. dollars. In the next five years (from 2016 to 2021), the growth of output value will slow down with a compound annual growth rate of 3.39%. It is estimated that by 2021, the output value of China's PCB industry will reach 32.042 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 53.04% of total worldwide PCB industry.
